Powder coating is the application of powder paint to a metal substrate, using electronic energy for effective adhesion. An electrostatic gun is used to spray the powder paint onto grounded metal objects. Once the powder paint is applied, the metal item needs to be cured in an oven designed for this purpose, to create a uniform protective layer. When exposed to a specific temperature, the chemical agents in the paint trigger a polymerizing reaction that makes the coating especially resistant.
PPC’s specialty is powder coating: the electrostatic application of powder paint that is then cured in an oven. We have a paint booth and a gas batch oven onsite, so we can powder coat items up to 17 feet (5 meters) long.
The paint used in powder coating does not contain any toxic solvents, compounds or pigments. No special precautions are needed when storing or using it – a significant advantage for workpieces meant for indoor use, as well as projects with particular environmental issues.
Our customers can choose from an impressive assortment of colours, finishes and textures for powder coating jobs. Our use of different suppliers enables access to a wide range of paints specially formulated to meet the unique technical specifications of certain projects.
